In my experience working at the hotel with the new chat implementation is great, However, there’s one problem I always run into the most (usually at the front desk), Either guests who approach try to type but can’t get their messages seen by separate age groups obviously, or they simply get confused trying to navigate the new UI, both leading to greater chances of misunderstanding each other when trying to ask for simple requests. Now IF this is a common issue for others as well, I think an easy fix would be maybe to add some sort of pop-up / tutorial for guests who join recommending them to utilize the chat icon on the left side of their screen or something. I believe this will make it easier for reminding guests to know how to communicate using the new chat system, maybe help them using it correctly and lower the chances of guests getting stuck trying to figure out how to use it.
